Dress Code
Below is our dress code for all types of classes. The dress code will be enforced, and those students who do not adhere will be asked to sit out of class. Tights must be worn under shorts. Hair should always be pulled back for all classes, but a bun is required for ballet classes. Black dance clothes are recommended.
Mommy & Me, Creative Combos, Tap/Ballet Combos:

Pink ballet slippers & black tap shoes (ribbon tie style)

Tap/Jazz Combos:

Tan jazz shoes (no jazz sneakers, Capezio brand shoes recommended) & black tap shoes (ribbon tie style)

Leotard & tights – any color

Jazz/Hip Hop Combos:

Tan jazz shoes (no jazz sneakers, Capezio brand shoes recommended) & sneakers to be designated just for class (not wore outdoors). Black is suggested.

No sweatpants, jeans or baggy t-shirts
Ballet/Jazz Combos:

Hip Hop Classes:

Solid black sneakers, including soles, no lights or designs. (NOT to be worn outside; can be jazz sneakers or regular sneakers such as Converse)

Loose clothing, no jeans, pants that are not too long

Lyrical and Contemporary Classes:

Pirouettes or Twyla half sole shoes

Tap Classes:

Black tap shoes for all classes except Junior, Pre-Senior and Senior classes, who wear tan tap shoes.

Beginner level classes and levels up to our Junior class must wear flat, Mary Jane style tap shoes with buckle straps or ties (no velcro).

For Junior class and above, the low, Oxford style lace up tap or slip-on tap shoes may be worn during class but will not be permitted for recital. If you have this type of shoe, you will be required to purchase the correct shoes for recital.

Heeled tap shoes are to be worn at the teacher’s discretion only. It is imperative that you check with your tap teacher before purchasing a pair of heeled shoes.
